Nature and Scope

Under the direction of the Director of Human Resources, this fully onsite position coordinates the HR office and provides front-line administrative support for onboarding, leave administration, employee and non-employee records, licensure and certification tracking, Employee Health documentation, required postings, and routine HR communications. The Coordinator maintains organized and compliant records, communicates with new hires and agencies, and supports efficient service through the shared HR email and ticket workflow.

Compensation

Compensation for Benefited, Full-Time Pay Scale

  • Base Rate: $25.97–$33.15 per hour ($54,017.60 - $68,941.67 annually)
  • Starting pay is determined using our non-clinical pay scales, which feature 6 steps recognizing up to 6 years of relevant experience.
  • Eligible employees may also receive shift differential and holiday pay

Job Status / Shift Information

  • Full-time, benefited
  • Work shcedule is Monday-Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm 

Qualifications

Preferred Experience:

  • Previous administrative, clerical, Human Resources, or healthcare-office experience.
  • Experience maintaining confidential paper and electronic files and coordinating detail-oriented workflows

Preferred Education: 

  • Completion of two years of college or equivalent training.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong judgment, critical-thinking, organization, prioritization, and adaptability skills.
  • Ability to learn and apply federal and California employment requirements, healthcare personnel standards, hospital policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong computer aptitude and ability to use HR information systems, document-management systems, spreadsheets, and standard office applications.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in written and oral English and prepare accurate reports, correspondence, and documentation.
  • Service-oriented, respectful approach and ability to work effectively with leaders, employees, applicants, vendors, and the public.
  • Ability to handle frequent interruptions, competing deadlines, and sensitive matters calmly and professionally.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and work independently with appropriate judgment and follow-through.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records, checklists, deadlines, and follow-up systems.
  • Ability to welcome visitors, answer routine questions, communicate clear instructions, and route sensitive or complex matters appropriately.
  • Ability to create and maintain Word documents, PowerPoint presentations, spreadsheets, forms, and paper/electronic packets.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of contact for HR visitors, shared-email requests, and HR ticket workflow; answer routine questions and route matters to the appropriate HR team member
  • Maintain consistent front-office coverage and a professional, service-oriented environment for employees, applicants, and visitors.
  • Assure required pre-hire documents are complete and properly retained so candidates and non-employees can be cleared to start.
  • Create new-hire schedules and communicate orientation, onboarding, and document requirements to new hires, staffing agencies, and other involved parties.
  • Perform professional reference and employment-verification calls for top applicants to support final hiring decisions.
