Nature and Scope

Plumas District Hospital (PDH) is hiring an Occupational Therapist (Inpatient) to deliver occupational therapy and rehabilitation services across inpatient and swing-bed units. This role may float to outpatient and skilled-nursing settings in Greenville, CA. Ideal candidates are licensed, patient-focused OTs with acute care and rehab experience.

 

The Occupational Therapist will have a great deal of flexibility in applying individual professional judgment, discretion, and skill in patient management and program development. The Occupational Therapist will review physician’s referrals for Occupational Therapy services and utilize information obtained from patient's records relative to their medical history, social emotional disorders, and prognosis in order to select appropriate evaluation procedures for identifying patient's functional abilities/disabilities

Location

  • You may be requested to float to an outpatient department in Greenville, CA. 

Compensation

  • Hourly Range: $55.51 – $79.14
  • Sign-On Bonus: $10,000 (full-time, subject to agreement terms)
  • Housing: $1,500/month housing stipend for the first three months
  • Pay Structure: 13 clinical pay increments rewarding up to 30 years’ relevant experience

Job Status / Shift Information

  • Full-time, benefited.
  • Primary assignments: inpatient and swing bed departments; may assist in outpatient and skilled nursing facility departments.
  • Shift differentials and holiday pay apply for eligible shifts.

 

Qualifications

  • Education: Master’s (MOT) or Doctorate (OTD) in Occupational Therapy required.
  • Licensure/Certifications: Current California Occupational Therapy license and NBCOT certification (or eligibility). Healthcare Provider BLS (AHA) required. Compliant with state regulatory requirements.
  • Experience: Minimum 1+ year in acute care, swing bed/skilled nursing, and/or outpatient settings preferred.
  • Skills: Strong clinical reasoning, excellent interpersonal/communication skills, accurate documentation, EMR proficiency, ability to manage diverse diagnoses and personalities, dependable and punctual.

Responsibilities

  • Provide occupational therapy evaluations and develop individualized OT treatment plans to improve function, independence, and safety.
  • Treat injuries and chronic conditions; train patients and families on assistive devices (canes, walkers, wheelchairs, orthotics/prosthetics).
  • Document progress and report patient response to physicians; complete timely, professional clinical notes and correspondence.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary rehab team meetings, in-services, and quality initiatives.
  • Act as the inpatient occupational therapist for assigned units; support outpatient and skilled nursing as needed.
