Nature and Scope

The Director of Rural Health Clinics is responsible for the direction and leadership to ensure PDH meets the goals of achieving high quality outcomes within an efficient cost structure, ensuring a positive patient experience and access to care while improving the work environment for providers and staff. This includes establishing, meeting and continuously monitoring the goals and objectives while maintaining alignment with the strategic goals and objectives for PDH.  While the range of duties and responsibilities is broad and varied, the position’s major responsibility is directing operations, budgeting, financial management, and human resource management. The Director works closely with a variety of stakeholders, coordinating the activities of rural health clinic operations across the organization to include medical and dental services.

 

The Director of Rural Health Clinics is also responsible for nursing practice oversight by organizing and leading the delivery of nursing care for designated patient care areas. This includes: analyzing clinical practice and identify opportunities to increase quality, safety, effectiveness and efficiency within primary and specialty care; identifying clinical indicators to measure, evaluate and improve care; maintaining compliance with all clinical policies, procedures and regulations; supervision of registered nurses and other healthcare providers who deliver nursing care.

Compensation

Compensation Philosophy:

  • We have 13 pay increments on our clinical pay scales to compensate staff for 30 years of relevant experience. 

Compensation Range:

  • $136,968.00 to $195,270.40 / year

Sign on Bonus:

  • A sign-on bonus is being offered in the amount of $10,000.00 to the successful incumbent for this position when hired in a full time employment status, subject to the terms of the agreement.

  • New hires who accept part-time benefited employment status in this role will be offered a pro-rated sign on bonus.

  • Employees hired in this role in a per diem employment status are ineligible for sign on bonuses.

Housing Stipend:

  • We provide three months of paid housing or $1,500.00 / month housing stipend for the first three months of employment

Qualifications

Education:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare-related field
  • Current California license for a clinical role (i.e RN, NP, MD)

Experience

  • A minimum of (8) eight years’ experience in rural health clinic managment with a Bachelor's degree in a healthcare relevant field.
  •  

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 

  • Must demonstrate expert-level knowledge and awareness of area of expertise in each designated facility, as well as the entire program entity.
  • Experience working in an integrated delivery system or managed care organization in a management level position in assigned area of responsibility.
  • Excellent human relations, organizational and communication skills.
  • Experience anticipating and responding to the needs of internal and external customers.
  • Strong financial and business acumen; knowledge of budgeting and forecasting methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures appropriate clinical education is available to support the development and continued competencies of clinical employees.
  • Establishes a strategic and conceptual framework for patient care management within the facility. Taking into account patient mix, community needs, staff skills and knowledge, available personnel and material resources and healthcare expectations.
  • Participates in the determination, definition, and periodic evaluation of the quality and patient safety program, using data to understand strengths and weaknesses of the practice and departments and to determine needs, decisions, and strategies.
  • Works with the CFO on developing and analyzing department budgets in coordination with Finance.
  • Coordinates development of institution wide patient care programs, policies and procedures that describe how patients’ nursing care needs, or the needs of patient populations receiving nursing care, treatment, and services are assessed, evaluated and met.

Child Care:

  • PDH is thrilled to provide our Child Care Center services to all families in our area. Our program is operational from 7:45am to 5:15pm, Monday through Friday, and is approved for children aged 0 to 5 years. After submitting your application, our Child Care Director will get in touch with you about your acceptance into the program. Once approved, we will start the enrollment process.
