Nature and Scope

The Cook prepares, seasons and cooks meals for patients, visitors and employees using a production sheet per Patient Diet Order, Employee Food Order forms and departmental luncheon orders. The Cook duties also include, but are not limited to, the following:  Preparation and execution of maintaining a clean, safe and sanitary kitchen per state and federal guidelines; general cleaning both per posted schedule and as needed; and performing general department duties as requested and needed.

Compensation

Compensation Philosophy:

We have 6 pay increments on our clinical pay scales to compensate successful candidate for 6 years of relevant experience. 

 

Compensation Range:

$19.23 - $24.54 / hour

 

Job Status / Shift Information

Part-Time Benefited and work about 20-24 hours per week. Must be willing to work weekends and holidays. 

 

Qualifications

Education:

  • Current certification by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) -Conference for Food Protection (CFP) or obtain within six (6) months of hire date. This requirement may be met by obtaining a ServSafe Certification or a California Food Handler Certification. 

  • Current Driver's License. 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to speak, read, write and follow verbal and written directions in English.
  • Must be able to work well with people and be willing to learn.
  • Must demonstrate a willingness to learn therapeutic diet guidelines, and general quantity and quality food preparation.

Must meet physical requirements as stated on job description addendum

 

Responsibilities

  • Utilize patient Dietary Order report generated for each meal to prepare daily Production Sheet.
  • Preforms the basic principles of food preparation and service for AM and PM positions.
  • Responsible for the quantity, quality and nutritious and creative presentation of patient, guest and employee food.
  • Ability to work independently with little or no supervision.
  • Maintain organized and clean work area at all times

Child Care:

PDH is thrilled to provide our Child Care Center services to all families in our area. Our program is operational from 7:45am to 5:15pm, Monday through Friday, and is approved for children aged 0 to 5 years. After submitting your application, our Child Care Director will get in touch with you about your acceptance into the program. Once approved, we will start the enrollment process.
