The primary purpose of this position is to plan, organize, develop, and direct all in-service educational programs throughout the Nursing Facility in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations, and as may be directed by the Director of Nursing, to assure that the highest degree of quality resident care can be maintained at all times Under the direction of the Director of Nursing and general supervision of the NATP RN/PD. The CNA instructor will follow the California Department of Public Health approved curriculum: Nurse Assistant Training Assessment Program (NATAP), developed by the California Community College Chancellors Office and adopted by Prosperity Training Center. The instructor is responsible to train non-certified individuals in basic nursing tasks consisting of a minimum of 60 hours of theory/classroom training on basic nursing skills, patient safety and rights, the social and psychological problems of patients, and elder abuse recognition and reporting. (HSC 1337.3(c)(2)(A)) additionally, the curriculum shall include within the 60 hours of theory/classroom training, a minimum of 6 hours of instruction on preventing, recognizing, and reporting instances of abuse utilizing those courses developed pursuant to Section 138.23 of the Penal Code, and a minimum of 1 hour of instruction on preventing, recognizing, and reporting residents' rights violations. We have 13 pay increments on our clinical pay scales to compensate staff for 30 years of relevant experience.
