The Unit Secretary will be responsible for providing a wide range of clerical support for the hospital nurses station as well as serving as the monitor technician for cardiac monitors, and temperature monitors. The Unit Secretary has the ability to maintain order and flow during peak patient surges, respond to multiple demands with integrity and persistence, prioritize duties according to their critical nature and achieve desired outcomes for our patient population. The Unit Secretary performs tasks such as answering phones, filing, scanning, facilitating patient transfers to acute and long term facilities, and helping hospital ancillary staff, nurses and doctors. They serve as a cardiac monitoring technician and monitors other central monitoring, relaying important changes to the ancillary department staff. The Unit Secretary contributes to the provision of quality care through participating in performance improvement activities that provide positive outcomes.

Compensation Philosophy:
We have 6 pay increments on our clinical pay scales to compensate staff for 6 years of relevant experience.
Compensation Range:
$18.00 - $ 22.97 / hour
Full-time and the schedule is Monday-Friday 8:30 am to 5:00 pm.
Education:
One Year of office experience and must possess a CPR certifcation.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Exceptional knowledge of medical terminology and hospital processes. Ability to effectively work within medical record software. Experience maintaining a professional level of patient privacy in accordance with HIPAA procedures.
