Nature and Scope

Under the direction of the director of the Childcare Center, the Toddler Teacher will be responsible for facilitating the day to day operations of the Toddler Program. The Toddler Teacher will monitor and ensure safety and program guidelines in their classroom, provide a safe, happy, and positive environment for all children, plan and implement all activities appropriate for children ages 18-36 months, complete DRDP assessments as needed, and communicate with parents daily.

Compensation

Compensation Philosophy: We have 6 pay increments on our clinical pay scales to compensate successful candidate for 6 years of relevant experience

Compensation Range: $18.19 - $23.22 / hour 

Sign on Bonus: $1,000.00

Regular Full-time and weekdays

 

Qualifications

Education

Minimum: 6 completed core semester units of early childhood education/development and enrolled in at least 2 semester units at a college until fully qualified.The ideal candidate is required to complete courses of Principles and Practices (ECE 100), Child Growth and Development (ECE 101), Child, Family, and Community (ECE 102), and Curriculum (ECE 104). 

 

 

Preferred: 12 completed core semester units in early childhood education/development semester units.

 

Units specified shall include courses covering: Child growth and development; child, family and community; and program/curriculum.

Experience

6 months experience in a licensed child care center or comparable group child care program.

Other Requirements

TB Clearance, MMR, Tdap, and Flu immunizations or waiver verification, DOJ and FBI Fingerprint Clearance, 8 hours of Preventative Health and Safety Training within 3 months of hire. Current CA Driver's License. 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Title 22 Regulations, Planning and implementing curriculum for children ages 18-36 months, Current principles and practices of early childhood education in a play-based, family centered program, Plan, organize and facilitate overall daily routine for children ages 18-36 months, Exercise tact, diplomacy and good judgment in dealing with volunteers, children, and parents ,Promote the program’s vision, mission and goals

 

Must meet physical requirements as stated on job description addendum

 

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates all aspects of the Toddler Classroom, which includes ensuring compliance with Community Care Licensing, Title 22 Regulations, and all requirements pertaining to health, safety standards and emergency procedures of the site.
  • Supervises and provides feedback to teacher aides and classroom volunteers
  • Participates in professional growth activities throughout the year, both self-initiated and Director initiated. 
  • Researches creates, and implements age appropriate principles, practices, and curriculum for children ages 18-36 months.
  • Completes daily lesson plans, and updates lessons depending on specific goals for children in their care.
