Under the direction of Director of the Childcare Center, the substitute teacher/aide will be responsible for facilitating the day to day operations of the center or helping the teacher facilitate the daily operations of the center. The substitute will monitor and ensure safety and program guidelines in their classroom, provide a safe, happy, and positive environment for all children, plan and implement all activities appropriate for 0-5 year-olds, complete DRDP assessments as needed, and communicate with parents as needed.

Compensation Philosophy:
We have 6 pay increments on our clinical pay scales to compensate successful candidate for 6 years of relevant experience
Compensation Range:
$19.28 - $24.61 / hour
Limited Part-time and weekdays
Education:
Minimum: 6 completed core semester units of early childhood education/development and enrolled in at least 2 semester units at a college until fully qualified or a teaching credential. The ideal candidate is required to complete courses of Principles and Practices (ECE 100), Child Growth and Development (ECE 101), Child, Family, and Community (ECE 102), and Curriculum (ECE 104).
Preferred: 12 completed core semester units in early childhood education/development semester units.
Units specified shall include courses covering: Child growth and development; child, family and community; and program/curriculum.
Experience:
6 months experience in a licensed child care center or comparable group child care program.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Title 22 Regulations, planning and implementing curriculum for children ages 0-5, Current principles and practices of early childhood education in a play-based, family centered program, Exercise tact, diplomacy and good judgment in dealing with volunteers, children, and parents, Promote the program’s vision, mission and goals, and Make effective decisions and take initiative to take independent action when needed.
Other Requirements:
DOJ and FBI Fingerprint Clearance. 8 hours of Preventative Health and Safety Training within 3 months of hire
