Overview

The Physical Therapy Assistant implements patient's individualized treatment plan as established by the primary physical therapist to optimize the functional abilities and skills of patient's. Works with other members of the rehabilitation team to implement programs consistent with the needs and capabilities of each patient. Instructs/Communicates with patients, families and other caregivers in the skills and techniques of the physical therapy treatment program under the supervision of the physical therapist. Provides timely written documentation as required by insurance provider to meet licensing, certification, regulatory and reimbursement requirements. Supports and participates in department operations and development. Prepares and submits patient charges accurately to provide appropriate billing information. Uses professional judgment to ensure safety of self, patient's and other and others at all times. Achieves quality patient care through interdisciplinary cooperation, teamwork and effective communication. Attends required meetings as designated by the Rehab Manager. Effectively communicates with therapist concerning patient's response to treatment plan. Maintains valid licensure, certification or equivalent as requested by appropriate state agency. Attends and services, training sessions or other educational presentations. Coordinates treatment goals with other team members.

**May rotate between Greenville and Quincy offices and/or work under the supervision of multiple physical therapists. **

Qualifications

Experience: Outpatient, and Acute/Transitional experience as a Physical Therapy Assistant preferred

Education/Qualifications: Graduate of an APTA accredited school physical therapy. Current license as a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) in CA. Current CPR certification.
