The Clinic Nurse Manager is responsible for supervising clinical nursing staff in our Rural Health Clinics. The Nurse Manager performs or facilitates competency testing for back office clinical staff annually and upon hire, and handles regulatory and quality issues in a timely fashion. Oversees daily operations and responsibilities of patient flow. Position encompasses care of patients from intake through checkout. Assistance to physicians or Advanced Practice provider, telephone triage, chart organization, and care of equipment and the environment. The Nurse Manager oversees clinical specialty programs such as CHDP and HIV. Works closely with the Medical Director to ensure quality services are provided.
Required Education: Requires current California RN license and current CPR card.
Preferred Education: Bachelor Degree in Nursing
Experience: Five to Seven years’ clinical experience in an inpatient or outpatient setting required. Prefer ambulatory care or medical office experience. Two to Four years’ supervisory experience required. Must be self-motivated and able to function independently to make patient care decisions for the safety of patients and co-workers.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Good analytical and critical thinking skills, good verbal and written skills to effectively communicate with physicians, management and other members of the healthcare team. Excellent interpersonal skills required. Knowledge of legal requirements to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies and rights of customers Demonstrates a willingness to learn, accept change, and assume different duties as needed. Knowledge of diagnostic and procedural coding, insurance prior authorizations, and patient assistance programs.
