The Nutrition Services Food Service Worker assists the Cook in variety of tasks related to the preparation and serving of food and assembling patient trays per Patient Diet Order. The Nutrition Services Food Service Workers duties include, but are not limited to, the following: operates dishwasher and other mechanical equipment; stocks and records necessary supplies; general cleaning both per posted schedule and as needed; maintaining a safe and sanitary kitchen per state and federal guidelines; and performing general department duties as requested and needed. Must be able and willing to work a split shift and week-ends.
Required Education: Ability to speak, read, write and follow verbal and written directions in English is required. If not already certified, the Nutrition Services Food Service Aide must obtain a California Food Handler Card within 3 months of hire date, and renew upon expiration.
Experience: Must be able to work well with people and be willing to learn. On-the-job training will be provided and previous Commercial Kitchen experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of kitchen equipment preferred. Must demonstrate a willingness to learn therapeutic diet guidelines, and general and quality food preparation.
