The Dietary Aide assists the Cook in assembling patient trays per Patient Diet Order. The Dietary Aide duties include, but are not limited to, the following: dishwashing; stocking and recording necessary supplies; general cleaning both per posted schedule and as needed; maintaining a safe and sanitary kitchen per state and federal guidelines; and performing general department duties as requested and needed. Must be able and willing to work a split shift and week-ends.
Required Education: Ability to speak, read, write and follow verbal and written directions in English is required. If not already certified, the Dietary Aide must obtain a California Food Handler Card within 3 months of hire date, and renew upon expiration.
Experience: Must be able to work well with people and be willing to learn. On-the-job training will be provided and previous Commercial Kitchen experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of kitchen equipment preferred. Must demonstrate a willingness to learn therapeutic diet guidelines, and general and quality food preparation.
