Under direct supervision of the Dentist, the Dental Assistant will prepare patients for examination or treatment and make sure that the patients are relaxed and comfortable. Assures that all needed supplies, instruments and equipment are ready. May also do clerical duties such as making appointments, case record maintenance, billing and payment functions, and handle patient’s dental insurance. Schedule is Monday through Thursday, approximately 36 hours per week. Incumbent must be willing to occasionally perform receptionist duties. Position is anticipated to be needed through approximately July 15, 2019.Experience is required for this temporary position.
Required Education: High school diploma or equivalent is preferred. Current CPR card required.
Experience: 1 – 2 years of experience as a Dental Assistant preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Excellent interpersonal skills with patients required. Knowledge of current dental assistant practices and procedures. Must have knowledge of alphabetical filing system. Must have sufficient knowledge of verbal and English comprehension and expression to communicate clearly with callers, visitors and staff. Must be able to perform simple addition and subtraction, and read and copy numbers accurately.
