The Surgical Services Manager is a Perioperative RN who is responsible and accountable for coordinating and supervising the nursing care provided to patients having a surgical or other invasive procedure. In this leadership role, the Perioperative Manager is responsible for providing guidance, clinical expertise, mentoring, and functional direction required for safe patient care. This role may include, but is not limited to, surgical case management, perioperative patient care coordination, and organization of quality performance improvement activities. . Participates in interviews for staff selection and assist in evaluating staff members’ performance.
Required Education: Maintains a current California license; Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support certifications.
Preferred Education: Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred; Certified Nurse Operating Room preferred.
Experience: Two years varied and progressive perioperative services experience; Management experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: The Surgical Services Manager has the ability to act as a clinical resource for Perioperative services staff members using evidence-based knowledge and prevailing standards, demonstrate effective communication and collaborations skills with members of the perioperative team. Is able to coordinate, facilitate, and manage change within the health care organization. The manager will be able to collect and analyze data that applies to perioperative services as well as operationally and fiscally manage the perioperative department.
